Safe At Scale
Join us for Safe at Scale on October 29 at the Orinda Theater
We are deep in wildfire season - is the East Bay ready?
As our summers get hotter and dryer and the risk of wildfire increases, residents throughout the East Bay have questions: “What is the science behind the vegetation clearing work that I am being asked to do?”, “Won’t the fire department save my house?” and “What is the State doing to help us?”
On October 29 at the historic Orinda Theater, the City of Orinda will host Safe at Scale, a regional convening to discuss these important questions and what we have learned from the L.A. wildfires that can help us all.
Senator Tim Grayson, Steve Hawks of the Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety (IBHS), Moraga-Orinda Fire District Chief Jeff Isaacs, and Trip Jennings, Weathered Director, will be our guests for an evening of forward-looking conversation about how we can keep our region safe from wildfire.
We will also watch the award-winning PBS film Weathered: After the LA Firestorm.
This event will examine wildfire resilience at a regional scale, helping residents across the East Bay understand how to make their homes safer from wildfire and what the state is doing to assist.
Please join us and share this important event with your Firewise neighborhoods and friends.
